CRAVING...To Read: Love Bites by Ellen Schreiber

{Description}

As a mortal girl dating a vampire, Raven knows that love isn't always easy. Now that Alexander's parents have returned to Romania, Raven and her dreamy vampire boyfriend are happy to resume their cryptic romance.
But soon another visitor comes knocking: Sebastian, Alexander's best friend, arrives for a stay at the mansion. At first Raven is wary, then thrilled—this is the perfect chance to learn more about her darkly handsome boyfriend and his past. Raven has been wondering whether Alexander will ever bite her and make their love immortal, and Sebastian could be her guide to the love habits of Alexander and his kind. But when Sebastian falls for a particular Dullsvillian, will another mortal beat Raven to the bite?
With suspense, danger, and a fabulous vampire party, this seventh book in the bestselling Vampire Kisses series continues the exciting nocturnal romance of Raven and Alexander.

{My Thoughts}

I'm a HUUUUUGE Vampire Kisses fan, and absolutely adore Ellen Schreiber. And after reading the sixth book in the VK series, ROYAL BLOOD, I'm dying to get my hands on LOVE BITES! Plus, I'm in LOVE with the new covers for the books. Not that I didn't love the older covers, cause I did. But these new ones.. they're just GORE-geous.

P.S. Keep an eye out for my review of all of the Vampire Kisses books here in a few weeks!

Never Fear

So, with this insanely horrible infection I've had that's made me pretty sick, I'm a bit off schedule. But, never fear! I'll be attempting to continue forward this week. The only day I MIGHT drop off the radar is on Tuesday (tomorrow) because I'm having my second of three procedures to try and make me all better vs. dying. The third procedure is next Tuesday, so expect me to possibly disappear then, too, unless I manage to get online and write a semi-decent post.

Anyway...

Before I forget -- you've still got a little less than two weeks to vote on the poll (side bar to the right) for what YOU would like to see added to the blog. It's your chance to have some say in the changes. =]

So, the schedule I've got planned for the posts this week..:

+ Monday: Obviously, this post.

+ Tuesday: Probably won't be posting.

+ Wednesday: Craving to Read - my own take on Wanting On Wednesday.

+ Thursday: Review

+ Friday: Preview of what may be coming.

How's that for a line up? Not too awesome, I know. But with how sick I've been, plus the procedures, it's a little hard to push myself a whole lot. So bear with me, folks. I'm not dead, and don't plan to be anytime soon.

Braaaaains! ...grr..rawr.

Like a zombie fresh out of the grave, I have returned to you, my loyal readers!

Okay, I'm not a zombie or anything. (Which doesn't explain this weird craving for brains. Hm.) I've just been suffering from my computer being down, followed by college finals, followed by medical junk. BUT -- I've been at work all the same, though I haven't been able to post. I've got several reviews lined up, Wanting On Wednesday's to post, and more goodies to share. So stay tuned, folks. The blog is about to revive, with more life than ever!

As you can see, it's already undergone it's first bit of change - a makeover! You like? I felt like the blog was a little Blah, and didn't quite show much in terms of personality and uniqueness. But that's changing up as we speak.

So, do you guys have any input? Any features you'd like to see more of? Or maybe features I don't already have, but you'd like to see? Just drop me a line in the comments and I'll see what I can do!

I crave your opinion, just as I crave those tasty, tasty brains. (Nom, nom, nom..)

Wanting on Wednesday: Gone by Lisa McMann

{Description:}

OPEN YOUR EYES

Janie thought she knew what her future held. And she thought she'd made her peace with it. But she can't handle dragging Cabel down with her.
She knows he will stay with her, despite what she sees in his dreams. He's amazing. And she's a train wreck. Janie sees only one way to give him the life he deserves--she has to disappear. And it's going to kill them both.Then a stranger enters her life--and everything unravels. The future Janie once faced now has an ominous twist, and her choices are more dire than she'd ever thought possible. She alone must decide between the lesser of two evils. And time is running out...

He reaches toward her, his fingers black and bloody, his eyes deranged, unblinking. Janie is paralyzed. His cold hands reach around her neck, squeezing tight, tighter, until Janie has no breath left. She's unable to move, unable to think. As his grasp tightens further around Janie's neck, his face turns sickly alabaster. He strains harder and begins to shake.

Janie is dying.

She has no fight left in her.

It's over.

{Angel's Thoughts:}

I love Lisa McMann's unique writing style, and I love the Wake series thus far. I read my ARC of Wake in one sitting, and read Fade before bed. I simply cannot put these books down until they're done. So, I'm very excited to read third and final installment.

GONE releases February 9, 2010.

Wanting on Wednesday: Darklight by Lesley Livingston

The sequel to Wondrous Strange..
Book Description:

Faerie can't lie . . . or can they?

Much has changed since autumn, when Kelley Winslow learned she was a Faerie princess, fell in love with changeling guard Sonny Flannery, and saved the mortal realm from the ravages of the Wild Hunt. Now Kelley is stuck in New York City, rehearsing Romeo and Juliet and missing Sonny more with every stage kiss, while Sonny has been forced back to the Otherworld and into a deadly game of cat and mouse with the remaining Hunters and Queen Mabh herself.

When a terrifying encounter sends Kelley tumbling into the Otherworld, her reunion with Sonny is joyful but destined to be cut short. An ancient, hidden magick is stirring, and a dangerous new enemy is willing to risk everything to claim that power. Caught in a web of Faerie deception and shifting allegiances, Kelley and Sonny must tread carefully, for each next step could topple a kingdom . . . or tear them apart.

With breathtakingly high stakes, the talented Lesley Livingston delivers soaring romance and vividly magical characters in darklight, the second novel in the trilogy that began with wondrous strange.

Angel's Thoughts:

I love Lesley Livingston, and loved the idea of Wondrous Strange. Besides -- who wouldn't want that GORGEOUS book!

Wanting on Wednesday: Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

{Description:}

Falling from grace has never been more tempting

For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan.
She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her.
Not until Patch came along.
With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment.
But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life
.

{My Thoughts:}

I was actually reading a review for this earlier, and that's what inspired me to use it for this week's WoW. I have heard quite the buzz about this book, and really have been wanting it. Can't wait to read it!

Has anyone else heard of this one? Do you share my feelings?

Wanting on Wednesday -- Vampire Kisses: Blood Relatives (Volume Three)

{Description:}

Raven's romance with her dreamy vampire boyfriend, Alexander, has been complicated once again by Alexander's menacing half-vamp cousin. Now that Claude and his fearless gang have been tricked out of the blood-filled vials that can turn them into full vampires, Claude will stop at nothing to find the real vials. Raven's family and friends could be in danger. When Claude teams up with Raven's longtime nemesis, Trevor, invitations soon go out for a vampire-themed masquerade party. Could Claude be scheming to turn all of the students at Dullsville High into vampires if he doesn't get what he wants? Raven and Alexander must try to stop Claude - but also ask themselves what really matters most in the end.

{My Thoughts:}

Okay, I know this isn't EXACTLY a book -- but as a lover of books, manga, and comics -- I'll end up throwing in a mix of the three. Besides -- this is VAMPIRE KISSES! The Vampire Kisses books are of my favorite books ever written! And the manga is just as great. So of course I'm excited to go on even more adventures with Raven and Alexander! And look at that STUNNING cover! Irresistible!

Ah, this is on my Must Buy list next time I go to Borders!

Wanting On Wednesday: Fire by Kristin Cashore

{Description:}

It is not a perfect time in the Dells.Young King Nash clings to the throne, while rebel lords, in the north and south, build armies to unseat him. War is coming. The mountains and forests are filled with spies and thieves.This is where Fire lives, a girl whose startling appearance is impossibly irresistible and who can control the minds of everyone around her.Everyone...except Prince Brigan.

{My Thoughts:}

I LOVE Kristin Cashore's first book, Graceling, and am DYING to read Fire. There is this perfect blend of adventure, romance, fantasy, and so much more in her first novel, I can't imagine any less from Fire. Has anyone else read Graceling besides me and agree on the excitement about this book?

Wanting On Wednesday!

Alright, this may evolve and change over time, but here it is -- my first Wanting On Wednesday!
---
{Description:}
In an explosion of his own making, Lucius blew his arms off. Now he has hooks. He chose hooks because they were cheaper. He chose hooks because he wouldn't outgrow them so quickly. He chose hooks so that everyone would know he was different, so he would scare even himself.
Then he meets Aurora. The hooks don't scare her. They don't keep her away. In fact, they don't make any difference at all to her.
But to Lucius, they mean everything. They remind him of the beast he is inside. Perhaps Aurora is his Beauty, destined to set his soul free from its suffering.
Or maybe she's just a girl who needs love just like he does.

{My Thoughts:}

Doesn't that just sound AMAZING! This is one of those books I really look forward to getting my hands on. It reminds me of Beauty and the Beast, and I think I read in an interview with her earlier that it actually is like her version of Beauty and the Beast. Totally awesome!

Anyway, check it out if you get a chance! I know I will!
